Les Kerr & The Bayou Band will perform their “Christmas on the Bayou” concert Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the Hickman County Ag Pavilion, 979 Grinders Switch Rd., Centerville, TN at 7:00 p.m. The show is part of the Winter Blues Concert Series presented by the Ag Pavilion. Admission is $10 per ticket.

Kerr and his band have performed their Christmas on the Bayou show since 1993 at various Nashville venues and this is the first time the show will be performed in Centerville. The show will feature material from Kerr’s Christmas on the Coast CD, as well as other traditional and blues-influenced holiday music. A native of the Gulf Coast, the singer and songwriter says regional influences have always found their way into his songs.

“It has been a lot of fun to add some Zydeco and blues to Christmas songs,” Kerr said. “Growing up on the Gulf Coast, I heard a lot of traditional holiday music sung with a Cajun accent.”

Joining Kerr for the show will be Brent Stoker, a vocalist and guitarist who is the son of Gordon Stoker of the legendary quartet The Jordanaires. Brent Stoker is a long-time friend of Kerr’s and performed on the Christmas on the Coast CD. He will lend his vocal talents to all of the songs in the show, especially "Blue Christmas:, a song The Jordanaires recorded with Elvis Presley.

Also part of the band is songwriter and harmonica player Everett Brown, who performs with Kerr frequently.

“This show is always a lot of fun and we are looking forward to playing in Centerville,” said Kerr. “We call it ‘putting a little hot sauce in your egg nog,’ because of the Gulf Coast flavor and Louisiana references in our music.”
